Breaking News: Buhari Dissolves APC NWC, Ratifies Ize-Iyamu’s Candidacy

President Muhammadu Buhari has dissolved the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The decision was reached at the National Executive Council meeting on Thursday summoned by the self-imposed Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Giadom.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) has also appointed the Yobe State Governor, Mai Malla Buni as the Chairman, Caretaker /Convention Committee.

Governor Buni, who was the former Secretary of the APC was sworn-in by the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

President Muhammadu Buhari at the NEC advised that all litigations in the party should stop.

Bashir Ahmad, an aide to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), tweeted:

“Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved.”

Similarly, the candidacy of Pastor Ize-Iyamu as the party’s candidate for the forth coming Edo Governorship elections has been ratified.

The Edo governorship election which is scheduled to take place in September has Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the APC and Gov. Obaseki of the PDP as major contenders.

The Mai Malla Buni-led Caretaker /Convention Committee has been given six months to organize the election of the National Working Committee, NWC, members.

This disclosure was made by Governor Atiku Bagudu while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the Emergency NEC presided by President Muhammadu Buhari at the state house.
