The Chairman of the Parents-Teachers Association of the Living Praise International School, Ibadan, Mr Taiwo Olajide, has bemoaned the state of the nation’s education sector. He said government had abdicated its responsibility to provide quality and affordable education to the citizenry.
Olajide, an Ibadan-based business man made the assertion on Friday at the Graduation/ Prize Giving ceremony of Living Praise International School, Apara Ibadan. Olajide who was also the chairman on the occasion, however, congratulated the management of the school for filling the gap for government in the provision of quality education to the Nigeria’s leaders of tomorrow.
He noted that the quality of service provided by the school was comparable to any of its peers in Ibadan, Abuja or Lagos. He however, urged the management of the school not to relent in their efforts to mould children of good character who would be leaders of this country in the near future.
Supported by the proprietress of the school, Pastor (Mrs) Oyeniyi, Olajide presented each of the graduating pupils and those that showed exemplary academic performances in the various grades in the school.
Cultural dance was done by the pupils with beautiful display of the rich diversity of Nigeria in a wonderful show.
The proprietress of Living Praise International School, Mrs Adeniyi congratulated the graduating pupils who would be enrolling into secondary schools. She urged them to be good ambassadors of the school, adding that they should be of good behaviour as they commenced the long vacation.
She however, commended the parents for their cooperation with the management of the school, stressing, ‘’without you our parents, we cannot achieve anything. We thank you all for your support’’.
