Report On Sack Of Ekpo Nta A Hoax -ICPC

Contrary to reports, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Barrister Ekpo Nta has not been relieved of his job. Ekpo Nta according to officials of ICPC who spoke with Newspot Nigeria reported in his office today and has been attending to official duties.

There were reports earlier in the day that the office of the Secretary to the government of the Federation (OSGF) had issued a letter directing Ekpo Nta to proceed on a terminal leave, an indication that he has been dispensed with.

None of the reports, however provided concrete proof that the letter asking the ICPC chairman to proceed on terminal leave emanated from the SGF’s office while up till now there has not been any confirmation to that effect from the office. Ekpo Nta who was appointed to succeed Justice Emmanuel Ayoola still has up till next year for his tenure to end.

ICPC officials told our correspondent that Ekpo Nta has not even received any letter from any quarter while no one had officially contacted him to proceed on terminal leave. One of the official attributed the report to the handiwork of michief makers who they said have been eying the seat of the ICPC chairman
