Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari issued an apology after launching an anti-corruption campaign with a speech that plagiarized President Barack Obama’s 2008 victory address. Buhari vowed Friday in a statement to punish those responsible for the plagiarism. He is set to meet with Obama in New York next week.
In his own speech, Obama had said, “Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long.”
