Breaking News: Senator, 7000 PDP Members Decamp To APC In Rivers

The only remaining PDP senator from Rivers state Osinakacukwu Ideozu has reportedly dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The first class graduate of Estate Management from Rivers State University of Science and Technology Nkpolu-Orowukwo Port Harcourt now Rivers State University and a holder of 3 Masters Degree in Financial Management resigned from his membership of the Opposition party.

Ideozu is set to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

He has been a member of Rivers State House of Assembly representing Ahoada state Constituency 2 and Ahoada East –Abua/Odual Federal House of Representatives before e was elected in 2015 for Rivers West Senatorial seat all under the Platform of People Democratic Party-PDP. Later on, October 2007 he was appointed by Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as commissioner for Finance before he was removed in a Cabinet reshuffle.

In a similar development, over 7000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP have decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Omoku area of Rivers state.

It was one of the biggest events at Omoku, the hometown of late militant, Don Wanny, as the defectors and other APC members rallied with echoes of Chants at the “20 Thousand Man Orashi Mega Rally In Honour Of the Minister of Transportation Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi”.

The event which took place at the Federal College of Education (technical) Omoku, was organized by the Chief Medical Director University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Prof Henry A A Ugboma.
